Kindness Council

Kindness Initiative

In 2015, we established a student “Kindness Council” to actively promote caring attitudes to all of our community and, in recognition of this work, we received the title “Kind School of the Year”, the highest accreditation  awarded by KindnessUK.com, a not-for profit organisation whose goal is to increase the amount of kind acts that take place nationwide and to unite people on that basis.  Warden Park is one of just five schools across the UK to hold this accreditation.

The Kindness Initiative was launched in October with an assembly to show students the positive effects of kindness and how they could acknowledge the kind acts of others.   A Kindness Council, led by students, has been established and children nominated for performing exceptional acts of kindness are recognised with certificates and trophies.

Kindness has been incorporated into the tutor programme by focussing on kind acts in the media, learning about people famous for their kind acts and debating different forms of kindness and why they are so important.
