Sussex Learning Trust currently operates three academies with 2200+ students aged 2- 16 years on roll. The Academy Trust is seeking a Head of Estates & Facilities to join an established team, working across all of our academy sites, supporting the operational and strategic development of the expanding Trust, playing a key role in our expansion and development.

The Head of Estates & Facilities will work closely with the Leadership teams in the member academy in ensuring that the sites and facilities of the academies provide an effective and high quality environment in which the Trust can achieve its objectives. They will ensure that the buildings and site are clean, safe, secure, accessible and welcoming, while promoting teamwork and motivating staff to ensure effective working relationships are in place.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, highly organised, experienced applicant with a flexible approach, strong communication and management skills, to contribute to this rewarding and dynamic educational environment.

COVER SUPERVISOR - UP TO 30.75 hours per week, FIXED TERM to jULY 2020

Required for September 2019, Pay scale: £12,490-£14,560 PER ANNUM (actual) (£9.35-£10.90 PER HOUR)
Fixed Term to July 2020 in the first instance, up to five days per week, term time only.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and skilled Cover Supervisor to join our team of professionals from September 2019. We will consider applicants for a full or part time role. The key role of a Cover Supervisor is to work closely with our students across a range of subjects and to ensure they maintain their learning in the absence of their regular teacher. Candidates will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills for this rewarding role and be relentless in their commitment to the success of all our students.

The ability to work calmly and often under pressure is essential. A good working knowledge of current ICT packages is required and previous experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. However we have a strong commitment to developing our staff so you can also expect to engage in a range of training activities. As such this is an excellent preparation for anyone considering a career in either teaching or supporting students’ learning.

The full time work pattern for a Cover Supervisor is term time only, Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm which includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. For applicants seeking a part time role, actual work days/times can be discussed at interview.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES 

Warden Park Secondary Academy has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to work with a range of learners who have a learning/additional support need and require a reader/scribe during examinations and to support assessment work.Full training to provide this support to their learners will be provided.  

Volunteers should have a good academic ability, preferably with previous experience working with young people or within education, and appreciate the importance of confidentiality. 

Volunteers will be asked to complete and return a Warden Park Support Staff application form (see below) and also provide the names and full contact details (including email addresses) of two professional referees.  All successful volunteers will also be subject to a Health Assessment.
