Hours of work 30 per week worked over 5 days. term time, permanent contract to include the equivalent of an extra 2 weeks worked spread across the academy holiday closure periods to meet operational needs, a total of 40 weeks per year. 
Payscale, SLT Grade 5 Points 17 to 25 currently £17,689 to £20,622 full time equivalent. The actual pro rata salary is £12,467 to £14,534. 
This position includes access to the attractive Local Government Pension Scheme. 

We are seeking to appoint as soon as possible, a motivated and experienced individual to join an established team providing high level, professional, administrative support and to support members of the leadership team, to enable them to operate effectively in their roles and to contribute to this rewarding and dynamic educational environment. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of key aspects of academy administrative work. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, experienced applicant with the right experience, a flexible approach and strong communication skills who is a team player with the ability to multitask within an extremely busy office environment. 

The main areas of responsibility are: 

  • Providing clerical, secretarial and administrative support to the leadership team;
  • Accessing and maintaining academy records via software SIMS producing reports and returns as required;
  • Assisting in arranging educational trips and visits;
  • Managing School to Home communication system and updating websites;
  • To produce, create and edit a wide range of documents and information;
  • Meeting and greeting visitors to the school, 'front of house';
  • Dealing with a variety of enquiries face to face, over the telephone and via email;
  • Other duties commensurate with the post.

If you have previous relevant experience, excellent time management skills and a proven ability in prioritising a heavy and varied work load, taking ownership of tasks and projects to meet deadlines then we want to hear from you. The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator, possess strong ICT skills and be highly motivated, with the confidence to easily form strong relationships with the academy leadership team, staff and external contacts.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES 

Warden Park Secondary Academy has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to work with a range of learners who have a learning/additional support need and require a reader/scribe during examinations and to support assessment work.Full training to provide this support to their learners will be provided.  

Volunteers should have a good academic ability, preferably with previous experience working with young people or within education, and appreciate the importance of confidentiality. 

Volunteers will be asked to complete and return a Warden Park Support Staff application form (see below) and also provide the names and full contact details (including email addresses) of two professional referees.  All successful volunteers will also be subject to a Health Assessment.
