Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Temporary Post – Start with immediate effect, initially until July 2018

Warden Park Primary Academy is committed to providing high quality learning for all children and wishes to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to support individual pupils across the school. This post is initially for 27.5 hours per week for the 2017-18 academic year and the hours of work will be 8.30am to 3pm.  The role will include an additional 1.5 hours of midday supervision, consisting of three 30 minutes sessions per week

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to support individual pupils to access the curriculum within a mainstream class.
  • Support individual pupils on a one-to-one basis or in a small group to develop their social skills eg. Taking turns, language skills and motor skills
  • Contribute towards IEP Reviews, Annual Reviews and target setting.
  • Have a passion and motivation for improving the lives of all children.
  • Have an optimistic attitude and be flexible to the demands of the job.
  • Demonstrate versatility, tact, commitment and the ability to use initiative.
  • Be patient and able to stay calm and listen and value children’s views.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and be expected to contribute to its development.
  • Have the ability to strictly maintain confidentiality
  • Be suitably qualified for the post of Teaching Assistant ie to have good basic literacy and numeracy skills (to GCSE level or above) and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Have experience of some behaviour management techniques.

Nursery Teacher – MPS / UPS (£22,462-£39,539)

To start January 2018 (December 2017 if possible) 

Due to the evolving nature of our EYFS unit, the days and hours to be worked are to be agreed.  The role but will be at least 0.6 but could increase to full time dependent upon demand for places.  Candidates must be flexible. 

You will be joining a school at a time of innovation and development as the Warden Park Nursery will open in January 2018. We will be opening our doors to 2-4 year olds who will attend the nursery class during hours which are in line with the school day.  Initially the nursery will be open during term-time only.  The nursery class will operate closely with our two Reception classes to form an EYFS unit. We also have a 420-place primary phase.  Please see below for more information regarding the aims of the nursery.

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Nursery teacher who wants to inspire, is excited by learning and has a desire to be part of a high performing and successful team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven by a passion to see young children succeed.   

You must have previous experience of working within the Early Years Foundation Stage, preferably with nursery-aged children and a proven record of making a good impact on pupil progress. You must have experience of organising an effective learning environment, be creative and able to motivate all children, have excellent communication and organisational skills and be a dynamic and creative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.  

An enhanced DBS check is required for this post.
