Digital Services ICT Technician

WP Grade 4 currently £8.57 per hour 14 hours per week (when these are worked is negotiable) Term time only  

We are looking to appoint a part time Digital Services/Reprographics Technician with accurate keyboard and ICT skills to join our Digital Services team.  The successful candidate will possess a positive outlook, be flexible in their attitude to work and well-organised with a customer-focused approach. 

The main purpose of the job is to help raise attainment within the Trust, by ensuring hardware resources and the infrastructure are maintained; to ensure staff, students and stakeholders are supported in using Digital Systems  to support learning;  to contribute directly to the development of skills and resources relating to Digital Learning and ICT in the Academy and to supporting all staff in their functions and roles. 

MAIN ACTIVITIES TO INCLUDE:

  • To install, configure and test new ICT equipment and network systems, including hardware, peripherals, and software, and its updates, according to manufacturer instructions and ensure that they operate to maximum potential;
  • Machine set ups deployment of standard images for PCs and laptops;
  • Maintenance, monitoring and upgrading of end user ICT equipment including the repair of defective equipment to guarantee the availability of the network;
  • Maintain the assets database with new and updated hardware and software following Academy policies for audit requirement such as carrying out annual audit checks;
  • Ensure the Internet connectivity, hardware and software are available as a teaching tool;

Art Technician/Display Coordinator

Fixed Term Art Technician/Display Coordinator (initially to July 2018) 

We are looking to appoint a part time Art Technician/Display Coordinator to provide whole academy display materials around the site by preparing and mounting displays within all curriculum and pastoral areas. The role includes a hands-on practical role to support teaching and learning in the Art Department by preparing materials and resources for lessons and supporting teachers’ practice. 

This is a part time, term time only contract for 10 hours per week; 5 hrs Art Technician combined with 5 hrs Display Coordinator.  The salary scale for this post is WP Grade 4 point 14 currently £16,528 per annum FTE and the pro-rata actual salary is £3,701 ((£8.57 per hour).  This is a fixed term contract to 20 July 2018 in the first instance.

VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES 

Warden Park Secondary Academy has an exciting opportunity for volunteers to work with a range of learners who have a learning/additional support need and require a reader/scribe during examinations and to support assessment work.Full training to provide this support to their learners will be provided.  

Volunteers should have a good academic ability, preferably with previous experience working with young people or within education, and appreciate the importance of confidentiality. 

Volunteers will be asked to complete and return a Warden Park Support Staff application form (see below) and also provide the names and full contact details (including email addresses) of two professional referees.  All successful volunteers will also be subject to a Health Assessment.
