Science event in Brighton tomorrow
On Saturday 21st May, Soapbox Science Brighton is back on Brighton & Hove beach by the i360! From 11am to 2pm, 10 women will be talking about their scientific research to raise the profile of women in science and to provide role models for the next generation of scientists.
OUT OF SCHOOL SUCCESS
Thomas Carter has made the Sussex U14 Boys County Hockey team this year. He has played in 6 matches so far against Surrey, Kent, London South, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire.
The remaining matches will completed by the end of May. This is a huge achievement for Thomas and is testament to the hard work that he has put in to a sport that he loves to play that he has earned his place in the team amongst a lot of boys who are privately educated, who play a lot of hockey at their schools.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Competing alongside Max, mentioned in a recent newsletter, Thomas (year 9) and his partner Julie (year 7) also represented the South East region in the UK Inter-Regional Acro Gymnastics Championships.
Here is a picture of them with their gold medals, helping the South East region to third place overall, behind Scotland and London.
