One to One Teaching Assistant
Sussex Learning Trust Grade 3
(£16,317-£17,978 pro rata
5 days per week – term time only – to include some lunch cover

Actual Salary: £10,991 - £12,109 (starting salary dependent on experience)

An opportunity has arisen for us to be able to recruit a one to one teaching assistant commencing September 2020.  Northlands Wood became an Academy nearly three years ago, and this is an exciting time to join our inclusive and child-centred school.  We pride ourselves on our whole-child ethos and promoting our school values.

Our TAs support the learning of all children, including those with SEN.  If you believe that all children’s needs should be supported within a mainstream setting and you have the skills to support children’s learning and their wider wellbeing we would love to hear from you.

Like all schools, we need to work creatively to be able to offer the support children need as school budgets are squeezed.  We believe we can do this through a whole school passion for inclusion and collaborative and solution-focussed problem-solving.  If you can contribute to this work we can reward you with a real sense of success as well as a sense of team work and belonging.

You should be comfortable working with children from 4-11 and have the necessary subject knowledge to support children with reading, writing and maths up to the level required at Foundation Stage through to Upper Key Stage 2.  Usually this will be a minimum of a GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.  You should have experience working with children in a school setting.  A relevant qualification is desirable.

You should be willing to undertake any necessary training to enable you to carry out your role effectively and a First Aid/Paediatric First Aid qualification is desirable.

We are happy to consider a job share or other part time arrangements if appropriate.

Please contact the school business manager, Shelley Crowhurst, for further details and an application form.  scrowhurst@northlandswood.co.uk

Due to the current situation with social distancing, all interviews will be via video link.

Sussex Learning Trust are an equal opportunities employer and are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
