Curriculum Intent
Students who study Business Studies should feel empowered to enter an ever-changing world of work equipped with the knowledge and understanding of how businesses operate.
The curriculum is underpinned by opportunities for students to encounter real world business experiences. This inherently relies on students building resilience, independence and their ability to work in teams.
The depth of knowledge delivered combined with the practical experience enables students to make connections between themselves and the world of business by equipping them with the skills needed to be entrepreneurial in a global economy.
How is Business delivered at Warden Park?
This subject is available as an option subject at GCSE. Students who opt for GCSE Business will have 5 lessons per fortnight.
Students in Year 8 can opt to undertake a specialism in Enterprise & Marketing as part of our Key Stage 3 Graduation programme. This will provide students with an insight into the process around developing a business idea, calculating revenues, costs and profits developing a marketing campaign and presenting their business idea to a panel. This is a great specialism to provide an insight into the world of enterprise.
AS students enter key Stage 4 they also have the option to undertake one of two twilight programmes offered by the Business department: Young Enterprise or a formal GCSE equivalent qualification in Enterprise & Marketing.
