PUPIL PREMIUM GRANT
In 2011, the Government introduced the Pupil Premium Grant to support all children in achieving their full potential and attaining higher academic outcomes. The grant enables academies to provide additional resources aimed at improving outcomes for students who are considered to be disadvantaged.
Warden Park Academy receives Pupil Premium funding for students who meet one or more of the following criteria:
-
The student has been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any point in the past six years
-
The student is currently in the care of the Local Authority
-
The student has left Local Authority care through adoption, a special guardianship order, or a child arrangements order
-
The student has a parent currently serving in HM Forces
-
The student has a parent who has retired from HM Forces on a Ministry of Defence pension
At Warden Park Academy, we are fully committed to ensuring that all students, irrespective of their financial circumstances, have equal access to a broad, ambitious, and enriching curriculum. As part of this commitment, the Pupil Premium Grant is used in a variety of ways to remove barriers to learning and promote academic success. These include:
-
Funding for iPads to support digital learning
-
Subsidised contributions towards educational visits
-
Subsidised costs for enrichment activities
-
Financial support for food technology ingredients, design technology materials, and art sketchbooks
-
Provision of revision guides, calculators, textbooks, and English set texts
-
Contributions towards academy uniform via our second-hand uniform shop
