TEACHING
The high standards that we expect from students at Warden Park are reflected in the excellence that our teaching staff strive for every lesson. Our pedagogical approach is research based and has been developed by our teaching and learning working party. It is based around our 6 characteristics of excellent lessons.
These characteristics also underpin our teacher CPD programme where staff work together to develop strategies that will improve our students’ experience. Teacher CPD is based on the most recent educational research in the context of what works best for the students in our care. All teaching staff are involved in visiting colleagues’ lessons as a part of identifying what the very best teaching looks like in practice.
We also focus on developing students’ speaking and listening skills through our oracy development. Lessons are planned to provide oracy opportunities on a frequent basis so that students develop their communication skills to a high standard.
