Academic Excellence

Warden Park’s 2020 GCSE results place us in the top 10% of all schools nationally for students' progress.

Nothing but the best is good enough in terms of our students’ academic performance. We have a long and enviable record of achieving very high academic attainment and academic progress and our results each year place us amongst the top few schools in West Sussex. In 2020 our results place us in the top 10% of all schools nationally. This level of achievement is a consequence of all curriculum areas: English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Foreign Languages, Technology and Computing, PE and the Arts achieving fantastic GCSE results.

Our broad and ambitious curriculum offer, with 25 GCSE courses to choose from, ensures that all students are able to follow a personalised curriculum pathway that both meets their needs and their aspirations for onward progression into college, apprenticeships, university and the world of work. Our Key Stage 4 curriculum is enhanced by our Twilight Curriculum, where students have the opportunity to study a range of formal qualifications and accreditations in addition to their regular curriculum. At present this includes qualifications such as The Higher Project, GCSE Latin, Enterprise & Marketing, AS Computer Science, Young Enterprise and The Duke of Edinburgh.

We have a strong focus on research here at Warden Park and on using this to develop the very best teaching practice in the classroom. This means that lessons are exceptionally well taught. Through this exceptional teaching we ensure that all of our students master the basics, develop a strong knowledge foundation and build the independent learning skills that allow them to really stretch the boundaries of their academic potential at GCSE.

Our approach and track record of success ensures that outstanding GCSE results at the end of Year 11 is just the beginning of each student's success story.
