Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance make a major contribution in preparing young people for opportunities and responsibilities in life, offering real work experiences. It helps young people make decisions and manage transitions as learners and workers. It is vital that all 11-16 year olds have the knowledge and skills they need to make informed choices. We strive at all times to conform to the current “best practices” in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance laid down by the government.
CEIAG education here at Warden Park helps young people develop the knowledge and skills they need to make successful choices, manage transition in learning and move into work. It is now statutory from year 7, and in partnership with outside agencies (colleges, 6th forms, apprenticeship providers, businesses and universities) we aim to raise aspirations, challenge stereotypes and encourage all pupils to consider a wide range of careers.
Learners at Warden Park are entitled to receive a full programme of careers education which is delivered through lessons, activities, events and guest speakers. In addition, every learner has access to a fully qualified ‘Personal Advisor’ for impartial advice and guidance regarding their future choices and decisions.
All learners at Warden Park will develop the following skills:
We have created a Student Futures portal for students to access which is full of information with regard to colleges, course options, apprenticeships, work experience, careers and local events.

Warden Park has also invested in Unifrog which is a platform designed to support learners in making the most informed decisions about their futures and has a range of tools that are suitable for all year groups.

EMPLOYERS AND PARENTS OF WARDEN PARK STUDENTS
We are always very keen to work with local businesses, Warden Park Alumni and parents/carers of our students to improve the provision of CEIAG within the school.
If you would like to work with us to support this aim, by sharing your education or employment experiences with a view to educating and informing our young people on potential paths or routes, please do get in touch to discuss this further.
