Warden Park Secondary Academy

The Best From All

Our approach to safeguarding is tightly aligned to both legislation and government guidance, in particular:

  • Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018
  • Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021
  • The Prevent Duty 2015

Our prioritises in working with children are:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children’s health or development
  • Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcome

Safeguarding covers a broad range of the Academies operation including aspects such as  child protection, health care plans, health and safety, site security, safety on school trips and anti-bullying work.

They are all aware of the procedures for passing on concerns within the Academy. If any members of the school or local community have concerns about the welfare of a child in the Academy, please pass them on to the Designated Safeguarding Team.

If you have concerns about a young person in your local community and you want to pass this information on then please make contact with West Sussex Integrated Front Door (IFD) at https://www.westsussexscp.org.uk/professionals/working-together/making-a-referral or if you feel someone is in more immediate danger contact the Police on 999.
