Safeguarding covers a broad range of the Academies operation including aspects such as child protection, health care plans, health and safety, site security, safety on school trips and anti-bullying work.
The Academy has a team of trained safeguarding leads overseen by Mr Sorrell, Deputy Headteacher who is the Academy’s Designated Safeguarding Lead. Additional members of the team are: Mrs W Griggs (Curriculum Leader Inclusion), Mr Atwell (Assistant Headteacher), Ms Wheeler (Assistant Headteacher), Mrs Hale (Attendance & Welfare Officer), Mr Thomas (Head of Digital Services) and Mr Kelly (Assistant Headteacher).

All Academy staff receive annual Child Protection and Safeguarding update training and other, more specific training, at various points throughout the year. They are all aware of the procedures for passing on concerns within the Academy. If any members of the school or local community have concerns about the welfare of a child in the Academy, please pass them on to the Designated Safeguarding Team.
