Find out current news from our Houses on our House blog.

Beacon house is all about community, which is why our motto is ‘Teamwork makes a dream work’. We are far stronger together than alone and Beacon students are encouraged to embody this in everything they do, working together and supporting each other, celebrating each success and overcoming every hurdle, as a team.

The Coombe motto is 'Limits only exist in our minds'. We are not 'passengers' in school or in life. We take initiative and work supportively together to make good things happen and initiate positive change. Looking after each other and the wider community is the foundation of personal success.

Downs house gives students a better school experience achieved through cooperation and working together to build a better community, which is echoed in our motto ‘Together we aspire, together we achieve’. We will continue to grow as a house working collaboratively to succeed.

The forest is a symbol of strength and endurance, two characteristics which sum up our house - we have the strength to overcome challenges and endurance to last the course. Our motto is ‘Courage Never Fails’, which is a truth which we should never forget. Be nice, do your best and respect each other.

Our motto is ‘ There is no failure, you either win or learn’. Heath students are encouraged to look out for each other, and help their peers to be resilient when facing challenges. We will continue to learn and grow together, as a community. Work hard and be nice - you can’t go wrong.

Character, community, charity and competition sit at the heart of our House system. Students and staff are all members of one of our five houses. Each House is led by one of our House Coordinators who take responsibility for involving us all in a whole host of activities. Students from every year group take on the leadership opportunities that the House system provides and lead the organisation of inter-house sports teams, charity fundraising and a wide range of house competitions.

One of the aspects that we are most proud of is the significant amounts of money that each House raises for their House charity each year. Currently our House charity is Sussex Heart Charity and we are raising money to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) for the local community.
